DBC – Diesel Buyers Club ("DBC", "we", "us", or "our") is a community-driven fuel price tracking platform operating at https://dieselbuyersclub.co.za. We provide a platform where users can view, compare and report fuel prices at petrol stations across South Africa.

2. Information Accuracy & Disclaimer

DBC is a community-sourced information platform. We make no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any fuel price information displayed on this site.

• Fuel prices shown are reported by community members and may not reflect current prices at any given station.
• Prices displayed are for reference purposes only. Always verify prices at the pump before fuelling.
• DBC accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on price information displayed on this platform.
• Diesel prices in South Africa are unregulated and may vary between stations and change at any time.
• Petrol prices are subject to government regulation and may differ by region (inland vs coastal).

3. User Conduct & Community Contributions

By submitting price reports, votes, or any other content to DBC, you agree that:

• All information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge at the time of submission.
• You will not deliberately submit false, misleading, or malicious price reports.
• You will not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to manipulate voting or price submission systems.
• You grant DBC a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, modify, and use any content you submit.
• DBC reserves the right to reject, edit, or remove any user-submitted content at its sole discretion.

4. Voting & Price Verification System

DBC operates a community verification system for fuel prices. You understand and agree that:

• Votes are tracked by browser token and IP address to prevent abuse.
• One vote per person per price listing is permitted. Votes reset when a price is updated.
• A minimum of 10 community votes are required before a price is considered "community verified".
• Price submissions flagged by users are subject to admin review before being published.
• DBC reserves the right to reset, discard, or adjust votes if abuse is detected.

5. Privacy & Data Collection

When you use DBC, we may collect and store the following information:

• IP addresses — used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and vote deduplication.
• Browser tokens — a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser's local storage to track your votes. This contains no personal information.
• Price reports and votes — any fuel price information you submit becomes part of our community database.
• We do not collect names, email addresses, or account information from public users.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

By using DBC, you consent to the collection and use of this information as described above.

6. Cookies

DBC uses minimal cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes:

• Storing your theme preference (dark/light mode).
• Storing your voter token to prevent duplicate votes.
• Maintaining admin session state (admin users only).

By continuing to use our site, you consent to this use of cookies and local storage.

7. Google Maps

DBC uses the Google Maps JavaScript API to display station locations. Your use of the map feature is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Google may collect location and usage data when you interact with map features.

8. Donations

DBC accepts voluntary donations via PayPal to support platform costs and development. Donations are:

• Entirely voluntary and not required to use any feature of the platform.
• Non-refundable once processed.
• Not tax-deductible charitable contributions.
• Processed by PayPal subject to PayPal's terms and policies.

9. Intellectual Property

All original content on this platform, including but not limited to the DBC logo, site design, code, and text, is the intellectual property of DBC – Diesel Buyers Club. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our branding or content without prior written permission.

10. Third-Party Links

DBC may contain links to third-party websites (including Google Maps, PayPal, and fuel station websites). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party sites.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, DBC and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
• Losses arising from reliance on inaccurate fuel price information.
• Losses arising from service interruptions, bugs, or technical failures.
• Any loss of data or unauthorised access to your browser data.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from your use of DBC shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page.
